New features and fixes in NU-manga, version by version.
Version 1.8.0
Current
Marking up a set that is still awaiting moderation no longer resets the zoom, and the preview no longer jumps back to the start of the page every few minutes or after you return to the tab.
A double-click on the edge of a selected free-shape frame adds a point even where another frame lies under it, instead of selecting that frame.
The Navigator with frames covered shows the page exactly as the preview Spotlight starts it: with your settings for the area outside frames and progressive reveal, text included.
Key 5 opens the experimental tools, and the Pages window is open from your first markup.
Version 1.7.0
New markup editor: the workspace fills the window, the tools sit in a bar at the bottom, and Layers, Properties, Pages and Navigator open as windows you can move and resize. Zoom the page in and out and move it with the Hand (hold Space); on phones the windows slide up from the bottom.
Shaped frames: draw a frame “As a quad” or “Point by point” to fit slanted and irregular panels. In the reader, Spotlight and Filmstrip follow the frame’s outline.
Tilt and italic: text properties now have Tilt and Italic, and you can also tilt a text with the handle above its box.
The editor’s preview shows the chapter with the same settings as the reader: view mode, transitions, page sides. Press G to open and close it.
“Finish markup” reminds you of pages without markup and lists them: go back to a page or choose “Finish anyway”.
Markup fixes: frames and text no longer go past the page edge, which used to get a publication rejected; edits made after reloading with a restored draft are no longer lost on publish; “Finish markup” right after an edit no longer asks for an extra confirmation.
Reader guide: the “?” button next to the settings (on phones, an item in the menu) explains how to move through a chapter, how Zoom, Spotlight and Filmstrip differ and what each setting does.
Zoom: with the Smooth transition, the camera goes straight to the next block when it is already fully on screen instead of sweeping through the whole frame.
Sign in where you are: when a guest bookmarks, votes, proposes an idea or opens chapter upload or translation, the sign-in window opens right on the page instead of sending them to the login page.
Notifications and bookmarks: notifications now show the title’s cover, and bookmarks and reading history show exact dates.
Consistent pages: Profile, Bookmarks, Library, Community and Notifications share one header style, My Bookmarks is as wide as the Library, and phones no longer show “Back” buttons. Form errors appear right next to the field.
Smaller touches: polished buttons, labels and forms across the site.
Version 1.6.0
Sign in with Google: the “Continue with Google” button on the sign-in and sign-up pages lets you sign in or create an account without a separate password.
Sign-up with an email code: first your username and address, then the 6-digit code from the email, and only then a password.
Notifications: a new page lists every moderator decision on your requests, translations, artworks and proposals, with the reason for anything rejected; a counter on the bell in the menu shows new ones.
Title comparison: titles with every chapter marked as read now count as finished, and on an unfinished title it offers a pair of finished ones.
Multi-column list: on wide screens, list view shows titles in two or three columns.
“Done” section: completed community proposals have a section of their own instead of sitting under “In Progress”.
Spotlight: the frame around a text block fades out sooner.
Version 1.5.1
A title or page that does not exist no longer opens a blank white page: you get the regular “not found” page with the menu, search and a button home, in the address’s language.
A chapter you read to the end, or leave for the next one, is now marked as read on its own.
The Read button on the title page is now an eye.
Reading by frames in Spotlight and Filmstrip, a speech bubble that pokes a little past its frame now shows with it instead of being cut off.
In Spotlight, a frame or speech bubble you have read no longer gets covered where the next frame or bubble overlaps it.
Title cards show the main title again instead of one of its alternative names.
Version 1.5.0
New catalog cards: the cover flows into a fill of its own color, and the age rating and score are larger.
Card details now open over the cover’s color, and on a phone with the first tap; “+N” shows all genres, a long description scrolls, and the Read button opens the title right away.
Mark chapters as read on the title page: read chapters get a check mark in the corner.
The bookmark button on the title page now matches the one on the home page.
Community category tiles are colorful again.
Smoother sidebar and grid/list switch animations; on iPhone the page no longer zooms in when you tap the search.
The site opens faster and handles more readers at once: the home page and simple pages arrive ready-made, and styles load once instead of again with every page.
Fewer loading errors when many readers are on the site.
A bookmark or rating tapped right after a page opens no longer sends you to sign in when you are already signed in.
A sign-in or registration link can no longer send you to another site after you sign in.
An address that does not exist now shows a “not found” page instead of the home page.
Version 1.4.1
Bookmarks are saved to your account again, and a stuck sync of bookmarks and reading history recovers on its own.

The title forms tell you right away when a source link is written incorrectly.
Moderators see the submitter name, alternative titles and source links in requests.
Small fixes: the same file can be picked again after removing it, correct plural forms for chapters and pages, clearer hints in the upload and translation forms.
